Demand Shock

Demand Shock Definition

Occurs when demand for a good or service suddenly changes. A positive demand shock increases demand and a negative demand shock decreases demand.  Prices of the relevant goods and services are affected in both cases. Demand Shock can be caused by tax cuts or increases, loosening or tightening of the money supply and increases or decreases in government spending.
