LIBOR Definition

The average interest rate that London banks charge on Eurodollar loans as they lend to one another. The British Bankers Association calculates the LIBOR daily for different currencies and announces this daily at 11 o'clock in London. Essentially, this is the British equivalent to the Prime Rate in the U.S.
