Purchase Order Definition
Purchase Order is a document sent to a vendor that authorizes delivery of a product to the customer. A purchase order creates a legally binding contract, it sets forth the price of the ordered goods or services and specifies the terms. A purchase order also contains the descriptions, quantities, prices, payment terms, and date of performance or shipment. It cannot be changed without the consent of the buyer and the seller.
