 Sacred Path Cards - The Indian Way to the Truth Will Surprize You!, 2008-09-08
For starters, I am an Indian and have owned these cards for quite some time. I found them at Barnes & Nobles and have done my own readings staring out with the easiest card spread and would do this only once each day. I found the readings to be very accurate on my part.
I also did a reading for my youngest son who was 16 at the time and is now 21. From my son's reading, I was surprized by what the cards were saying. I also have the Medicine cards as well...which is based on teachings from animals. I did a reading from those as well. Came out exactly the same as the Sacred Card reading! I thought, WOW, he really has his work cut out for him.
I told him of what both readings were saying that he needed to do. And a few years later now, we both see the reason behind what the cards were saying and why! I did his reading exactly the same spread as I did mine on a daily basis. I also did his twice to be sure of what they were saying with both decks and help with the understanding of the cards through the hardback book each set comes with. The second reading came out the same as the first. But I knew in my heart that what they were saying would come true, as if you look at the world of today and it's detruction...it's all coming into place. Back when I did his reading, he was to go out and teach others how to grow food, that it was going to be much needed soon to come at that particular time. This is true more so today than when I did his readings. More and more people are going hungry and have no idea as to how to grow a garden, indoors and/or out in order to survive of hunger. He was basically told he needed to start teaching right away to his generation and anyone else he felt that needed to know. I told him to just follow his heart and it will tell him who will need to know.
If you look at just today, a few years later the impact of disasters happening all over the world and the effect they are having on people everywhere....the cards were giving a warning of what was and is to come of these extreme hard times for people and the need to prepare and survive them. The Cards and Book that come together....ARE RIGHT ON!
This was and is just the destiny for my son. To be this particular type of teacher and spead the word and make other teachers as well.
But as I mentioned, the reading for him were from both the Sacred Path and Medicine Cards.
These are NOT Tarot cards, nor are they even close to them. These are about spirit and animals of nature guiding us for what is meant for each as individuals. They also help us on a daily basis. Just suffle the cards, hold them close to your heart when you ask your question before you lay them in the spread you desire. Then choose only one card (the easy spread) and it will talk to you and explain. The hardback book for beginners is very helpful in this area.
These have been of Great help not only to my son, but to me as well.
When my youngest daughter who is in the military was in Iraq, I made her a dream catcher at her request and sent it to her. She wrote me back telling me of another soldier who could not sleep and when he did, was having nightmares due to things he has seen and been through over there, and she loaned him the one I made for her until I could get more made and sent over there. The very next morning, she wrote me back via email to tell me how very much it had helped her soldier friend. He had finally gotten a good nights rest with no nightmares and felt revived and ready to continue on. This is our Indian way of belief of helping others and with tools that help us through the spirits and animals of life.
Even though we follow our Indian belief, God will ALWAYS come first in our lives. These cards are what we look upon as a tool which help us in so many ways of our lives of today and/or for what is to come.
Both sets....Sacred Path Cards and Medicine Cards, come with the card deck and a hardback book with readings, instructions of correct use and spreads. They have been a Godsend to us! I Very Highly recommend these card set(s) to anyone and everyone.

Very lovely, 2008-04-20
It depends on what you're looking for. The set has some very nice cards with great explanations as to what they are and how to apply them in life. I love the poems for each card. They can be used as a good source to focus your energy on a particular subject per day, but shouldn't be used to guide one's life.

Wow this is a great addition to my collection. I use the cards everyday. I would reccomend this to anyone intrested in medicine cards or learning about them. Great, Awsome.

Jaimie Sams has created a workable system to do readings for Native Americans full-blooded or "half-breed" [no slur intended]. The cards seem to depict the Plains Native Americans.I see no harm in trying divine answers for those who seek the truth within themselves. I like the book and cards for the directness and simplicity in getting answers with this book/deck set....

..in fact, by reading some of these reviews, these cards may not be for Native Americans, at all. I can see why some Native Americans would take issue with the book and cards if they feel that it doesn't accurately express their teachings. However as one who is not Native American (in this life...)I appreciate these cards and the book very much.
I think that the spirit with which we approach anything determines our results. Many people who have written here have gotten great help from this book (and cards..) They were given to me at a Christmas party by someone who didn't want them anymore and I really didn't expect a lot. I probably would not have purchased them. But, after using them a few times I really felt blessed by the "gift." I find the teachings very wise, sweet and gentle. I have gained great wisdom just from reading the book and I have experienced a lovely synchronicity of information when I used the cards.
I really don't care if they are "authentic" or not. I certainly don't care if Native elders don't "recognize" Jamie Sams! (No disrespect intended.) I think that people who believe that the Great Spirit (God) can speak to them directly, regardless of being approved by other humans, can get considerable benefit from these cards.
Like anything, use your own intuition, and if these cards speak to you, then use them. If not, there are plenty of other spiritual tools around. :-)
