Absolutely terrible book, 2008-04-05 This is easily the most long winded and rambling book I've ever read. It is incredibly verbose and full of nothing but abstractions and psychobabble. This book has very little practical information for would-be auditors.

Plenty of Room for Improvement, 2008-03-24 I am using this book for a correspondence audit course. I gave it two stars because this book deserves a negative review.
As stated by the other reviewer, this book rambles a lot. It reminds me of people in school and at work that think something must be of a certain length in order to be of good quality. Cutting out the BS and getting to the point would be more helpful.
Also, aside from rambling, the questions at the end of the unit are often poorly worded and confusing.
This book is poorly written. Buy it and see for yourself. I have learned a lot from it, but at considerably more effort than should be required. The users of this book clearly suffer from either a lack of competition or some sort of peer loyalty. I would not recommend this book. Unfortunately, I don't write the syllabus.

Coma Inducing, 2007-11-26 My biggest complaint with this textbook is that it lacks consistency in terms of flow; essentially, there are parts of this book that provide useful information and there are parts that will go on and on about nothing. Unfortunately the latter makes up a larger part of the textbook. There simply has to be a better book on auditing in todays environment.

Good, 2007-01-29 This was a good review only in that it did not come with the workbook I needed for the class as well. If the workbook would have came with the book then I would have rated it a 5.

A great book, 2006-07-16 I have been an auditor for the last seven years and I can assure you that Prof. Arens book is excellent. Even if you have a working experience with audits you will find that this book is not the usual "text book"
