Nikki Turner should have just left it at the first book. The book was boring compared to the first one and the ending was horrible. I literally wanted to throw the book against the wall when I was done. I was very disappointed.

Much better than the first book, but still lacking something ..., 2008-07-10
I gave the first book a two (A Hustler's Wife) due to the punctuation, grammatical and spelling errors ... and the storyline was whack. Someone obviously edited this book (Forever A Hustler's Wife) well because I didn't see any mistakes. It was well written and much easier to read. Overall, I thought the book was good but I still thought there were too many characters ... and unnecessary characters at that. I really didn't understand what role Lynx played. Also, when did Yarni and Bambi's father get out of jail? It's like he just showed up at Lynx's coming home party. The book seemed kind of rushed toward the end. I also didn't understand the role of Unique and Loochie (or however you spell his name). Unique really didn't do what she set out to do. What happened to Loochie? Also, what happened after Unique told Bambi about him? There were so many parts left out. Also, I didn't like the ending. It seems as if there may be a third book. I'm not sure what the book would be about though, other than elaborating on Yarni and Des' life. It's funny that Des got shot at the end but didn't end up getting hurt or dying because the Bible was protecting him from the bullet. However, didn't the author think it was important to say who shot him? I'd like to see another book come out, but with less characters and more drama. Also, I think the time period went very fast. The first book started out in the 80's and next thing you know they were talking about name brands that just came out a couple of years ago. I still think some of the things that happened in this book (like Des becoming a gangsta/preacher) were too unrealistic. But all in all, good job Nikki Turner!

strong relationships last., 2008-02-06
i was so intrieged by this book. i read "A Hustler's Wife" and i just had to read this one. i was just as impressed witthis one. this book truely shows that if you have a strong relationship with the person you love that you can conquer ANYTHING!
