Great Read, 2008-11-18 Cussler writes an excellant story of international intrigue. The "bad" people he writes about have very real counterparts in the real world. He brings science into the plot in such a way as to make you believe it could really happen just as he describes it. The plot of mass murder thru disease that he writes about in Plague Ship is one that worries Americans today. Plague Ship is well worth the read.

Ho-Hum, 2008-11-08 I like Clive Cussler and years ago I enjoyed his Dirk Pitt books as adventure/action/entertainment stories. There is a glimmer of Clives earlier stories but this was written, I am sure by someone else. For me the book was a letdown and maybe it is just me, but I found the whole storyline very weak. Even just silly. Completely implausible and totally predictable. The characters? Eh, they were very thin and it seemed like a 400 page comic book adventure. Alot of the characters motivations seem to make very little sense and...I don't know, this book just wasn't for me. There were also just way to many typos. This just could have been a better story. I am sure Clive's next book will be better.

Non-stop action, 2008-10-17 This is my first Oregon Files book, and I'm hooked. The action was rapidly paced, but the characters were what made the book for me. While they are tough, they also are good people. It made you think you would really like to hang around these people, which is quite a departure from most of the rough-and-tumble heroes who seem to have as much sadness and despair as they have machismo. I'll be sure to hang out with these guys again sometime in the very short future.

Cussler Is Great, 2008-10-11 I'm starting to like this series (The Oregon Files) as much as the original Dirk Pitt series. The Adventures of Juan Carbillo are filled with all of the stuff that has made Clive Cussler novels some of the best reading of our time.

It's okay....., 2008-09-16 Having read every single Clive Cussler novels, I would tag this one as okay. The characters don't seem as meaty as they were in the first collaboration with Jack DuBrul. The escapes were even more outlandish then normal and I really didn't care who won in the end. I agree with the other reviewer who said that this book was about 200 pages too long.
