Product Description In the sequel to one of Wahida's most successful titles [Payback is a Mutha], old scores are settled and before long, new tensions arise.
Still recovering from the suicide of her best friend, Shan now pregnant by a married man is forced to make major decisions in her life. Ready to leave the fast life behind, Shan believes a move to Detroit will help her become a stronger woman-but someone wants revenge against Shan's brother and is willing to destroy Shan in the process.
Torn over his love for his sister and his desire to get back on top of the drug game, Shan's brother, Peanut knows the danger of the streets. Old beefs become new scores and before long, a turf war is raging. With the stakes as high as they've ever been, only a few people will be left standing-and Shan is determined to be one of them.

Come on, Wahida! I know you can do better than this., 2008-06-30 I read all of Wahida Clark's thug series and LOVED them, so I thought I'd try reading her other books. Payback Is A Mutha was okay, but Payback With Ya Life was horrible in my opinion. Once again, there were too many different and unnecessary characters. The whole situation with Shan and Briggen was confusing. According to the story, Briggen really did care for Shan but we knew what his intentions were as well (to have her run one of his businesses like the other women did). Throughout the story he was still having sex with other women, and then at the end they end up married? Shan was always skeptical of Briggen and it was obvious that Briggen never changed, so I am confused as to how everything was perfect at the end. I also didn't understand the storyline about Big Choppa, Janay and Crystal. All of the sudden Janay and Crystal go to jail and Big Choppa is no where to be found? This book seemed rushed to me. I read on one of Wahida's sites that she is unsure as to whether or not there will be a sequel to Payback With Ya Life. Although it would be interesting to hear more about Shan and Briggen's relationship, what else could she elaborate on? Forever is paralyzed and back in the pen, Peanut (Shan's brother) is dead ... Please do better next time Wahida. I thought this book was a waste. I gave it two stars for the effort.

It Was On Point, 2008-06-24 I hated the ending of the book. I don't think that Shan should have been the one to take down Forever. Other than that, the rest of the book of the book was pretty good. Although, I never did find out the reason why Briggen didn't have any kids. When Forever mentioned it to Shan, I thought it would have been revealed in the ending but it never was. For me, the ending seemed a little rushed and I wish the writer would have spent more time planning it out a bit more. However, I think there is going to be a part III to this book. I wonder how the character, Nick is going to shake things up.
Look out for the Fourth installment to Thugs and the Women Who Love Them. I can't wait to find out what Trae and Tasha has stirring up.

Good Book but does not do the author justice, 2008-06-18 I love Wahida Clark's work but this was a mess. There were too many story lines. It was also too dependent on part 1. It never really introduced a new story. It just continued on with part 1. Not like the Thug series. They were sequels but each could stand alone because they started new stories, new drama. I highly recommend her work but do not judge it by this book.
