Product Description NO HIDING. Lana Hancock knows all about danger--and betrayal. Eighteen months ago, she was captured by a terrorist group known as the Swarm while one of its members, a rugged man with sinfully dark eyes, did nothing to help her. Now when she's freed and desperate to put it all behind her, the unthinkable happens. The Swarm is targeting Lana once again and the man who stood silently by has become her protector. But can she trust him? NO ESCAPE. Delta Force operative Caleb Stone will never forget the hatred shining in Lana's eyes. Ordered to take down the Swarm by infiltrating its ranks, Caleb couldn't blow his cover to save her--no matter how much it haunted him. Now, gifted with a second chance, he vows to move heaven and earth to protect her...and fulfill her every desire. But the Swarm has reorganized. It's more powerful than ever and hell-bent on revenge...NO CONTROL.

the worst, 2008-09-04 Mrs Butcher has managed to write two of the worst books I've ever had the misfortune to read. Unless you like stories about stupid women this book is not for you.

No sophomore jinx for this author, 2008-08-10 Was eager to read this second offering by newcomer Shannon Butcher, and I wasn't disappointed. I don't think it was quite as tightly written as the first one, but overall it is still a very good read. This book, too, deals with confronting and overcoming a heartbreaking past, times two. Female lead character Lana is a former hostage who physically survived the torture she underwent but still bears numerous psychological scars. Enter Delta Force operative, Caleb, the very man undercover in the group that captured Lana who stood by and watched, helplessly, as she was brutalized almost to death. Eighteen months later, he's back in her life, to save her again from the same evil group, The Swarm, we were introduced to in the first book. I had a few issues with this second offering in the series. First, the lunatic after Lana is a little too one-dimensional and implausible at times. She did and said a few things that had me scratching my head because it wasn't quite credible. The romantic and dramatic tension comes from Lana trying to resist Caleb's wiles, mistakenly believing that if she resists having feelings for Caleb, she can keep him safe from harm. Okay, considering this is a highly trained soldier in an elite military group, it's not quite believable. (Plus, it's an angle used too often in books of this genre.) I think the author could have found a better vehicle to sustain the tension between the two main characters. Overall, though, with the exception of a few wobbles, it's a good story. And I can't wait to read Grant's story in the next book.

I loved this book., 2008-07-01 I enjoyed everything about this book. Lana and Caleb had great undeniable chemistry. I'm a sucker for romances where the hero protects his damsel in distress and where the damsel in distress doesn't like to show that she is in any distress, but then ends up realizing that she needs the hero to help her through. Lots of good twists and turns. Great book....I also loved 'No Regrets' by Shannon K Butcher.

Now that's a man...., 2008-05-13 The book has been outlined before and in more detail, but in a nutshell the heroine and hero meet when he is undercover with a terroist group and she is one of their victims. She gets the living **** beat out of her and he has to standby and watch it happen (so as not to blow his cover). He hates himself for not being able to save her then and later when he gets the chance to protect her he does all he can to put himself between her and danger. The biggest obstacle for him to overcome was not the bad guys but was the heroine who was still trying to deal with the horror of what happened to her and struggle with the feelings he evoked.
I LOVED this hero. He was big and strong and confident in everything but his feelings for the heroine and later, her feelings about him. He was so YUMMY! I've seen hunky fireman and policeman get all soft and vulnerable when they do charitable work with kids so I believed the special forces friends helping out at the fundraiser.
This book was a fast read, well written and a pleasure to spend the day with. It definitely goes on my keeper shelf!

Talent runs in the family in the "Butcher" household, 2008-05-09 We all love the incredible "Dresdon File" novels by the talented Jim Butcher, but it appears now that talent runs in the family. Shannon Butcher is off to an incredible start with two published novels and a third in the making. They say third time is a charm. Maybe Jim and Shannon's son will inherit the talent of his wonderful parents and provide Butcher fans with even more great reads.
