It's the first day of school at Plumstead Middle School and already there's trouble. It starts with Sunny, who is determined to do whatever it will take to get herself suspended. My 11 year old daughter and I just finished reading this series of books together. We both laughed our way through each and every one! The stories center around the friendships of 4 middle school students - 2 girls and 2 boys - who are very different from each other. It was realistic in every way from the friendships to the school days to after school activities. You get the humor, tears, fears, ambitions, and so much more from their interactions with each other and their peers. The adults in the books are quite enjoyable, too. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book and the whole series to any preteens. If your pre-teen isn't really into reading, these books just might change their minds.

Report to the Principal's Office is an interesting book. It was a good book, but just good. It is a book about a girl named Sunny Wyler who is trying to get expelled so that she can go to her old school. There is also a girl named Salem Brownmiller who is a writer. She would do anything for a book. Then there is a boy named Eddie Mott who is trying to get through the year smoothly. Then there is Pickles, who doesn't have a goal, but he does have a purpose.
I thought the author rushed through the book. There was no point of the book. The reason I say that is because as I was reading it there were a bunch of little parts that didn't have anything to do with anything. I recommend this book for third and fourth grade boys. It wasn't my style. I like fantasy books. On a star rating I would give it two stars.

Report to the Principal's Office by Jerry Spinelli is a detailed, well-thought out book. The main characters are Sunny Wyler, Salem Brownmiller, Pickles Johnson, Eddie Mott, and Charles T. Brimlow. The story takes place at Plumstead Middle School. The book gives you very detailed character traits and visual traits of characters in your mind. Every character has their own unusual personality. You don't need pictures to see what's going on in this book because of the detailed descriptions of the settings and the characters' actions on every page of the book. It also describes the characters' thoughts, and there are plenty of characters you meet in this story. I would give this book a 5-star rating and recommend it to anyone looking for a detailed book to read.

I have a lot of feelings for this book. Jerry Spinelli is a funny author, but uses some words that shouldn't be in his good books. Report to the Principal's Office is mostly about a sixth grader named Sunny. She is not my type. Sunny is a brat and just wants to be with her friend, but when you go to a new school, you should make new friends and keep the old.
Eddie Mott has a lot of trouble with bullies and liking Sunny. Salem is trouble too. But luckily someone saves him. The ending made a non-sense point. It doesn't seem like it fits the story. Eddie reminds me of Harry potter, but the endings to the books and movies are better.
At first it is hard to figure all the main characters, but I got used to it. Pickles Johnson is not talked about a lot in this book. I dislike the beginning because it starts off in a weird way. I would give this book a seven on a scale of 1 to 10. There are silly moments and bad moments. This book is part of a series. If you like books that have girls who shouldn't be doing certain things, like troublemakers, then you will like Sunny Wyler.
Every book in this series is based on a certain character. This isn't as long as Harry Potter, so it might take you less time to read it. I recommend this book for teachers to read to their class or if you have reading groups. This book is good for ages 8 - 12. If you're younger, have a parent read it to you. Now I'm reading the next book in the series. This book is mostly about Eddie Mott and Pickles Johnson, but it talks about Salem in the beginning. I don't know a lot about it because I am not far into it. What I'm reading so far is good. The book is called Do the Funky Pickle. I guess the only way to find out if the book is good, is if you read it, but be sure to read Report to the Principal's Office first so you understand the rest.

This story is about 4 kids. One girl named Sunny (she's trying to get expelled). Another girl is named Salem (she's trying to write a good story). One boy named Eddie (he's just trying to avoid 8th graders). And another boy named Pickles (he's an inventor). The 4 kids end up going to a school called Plumstead Middle School, where they have many adventures.
When you read Report to the Principal's Office you'll laugh the whole time. Kids ages 8 - 11 will have laugh attacks, I know I did. The book may be a little hard to follow, since there are four leading characters. The beginning started slow, but the middle made up for it. He introduced the characters well, and what their goals are. I recommend this book because it's a good book, it's funny, nice descriptions, and it kind of seems like two of the characters (Eddie and Salem) have a little romance (I wouldn't call it a romance novel though). I would compare this book to... nothing, because it's unique, different, and I doubt you'll read anything like it. 3 out of 5 stars.
