5 out of 5 starsA Great book for Grandma!, 2008-02-15
This book makes a Great gift! It is a project that my Mom can really get into because she loves to write and it will be good for my daughter years from now when she wants to know about our family history!

4 out of 5 starsPretty Journal, 2008-01-07
I really liked the size of this journal. My grandmother is 76 and the lines for text are spaced out far enough so that she can fit her handwriting in between them. There are also places for pictures, which I'm not sure if she will use. Overall, it is very feminine looking with good questions.

5 out of 5 starsPerfect amount of Questions., 2007-09-24
I bought this book to give to my mother. I want her to fill it out for the child that I am expecting in December. I really liked this grandma's journal because it had the perfect amount of questions. There are questions about where she grew up, what her parents were like, her first job, where she currently lives, and favorites.

My mother and father are divorced, but I felt like the section on "Grandpa" was not too overwhelming. I bought several journals looking for one that didn't focus too much on Grandpa. I almost didn't buy this one because of the previous comment, but I am so glad that I did buy it. Many of the other grandma journals would take over a year to complete because of the in depth questioning. I can't stress enough that this journal asks the perfect amount of questions. I am also glad that I am giving it to my mother because I don't know how she will answer many of the questions. It is a good opportunity for me to learn about my mother and her marriage to my father.

To anyone who is concerned about the Grandpa section, there are 6 pages that cover grandpa/marriage. The questions are:
1. When I met my husband-to-be we were
2. He was
3. I couldn't believe he
4. What I liked best about him was
5. He told me
6. We dated for
7. Our favorite thing to do was
8. The things we had in common were
9. The one thing we differed on was
10. He asked me to marry him on
11. I married Grandpa on
12. The wedding was held at
13. I wore
14. Your Grandpa wore
15. The guest list included
16. Our reception was
17. When I look at this photo(place for wedding picture) I
18. After we married we honeymooned
19. Our first home together was
20. Friends & family who visited us were
21. We loved to get away to
22. The thought of starting our own family was
23. I became pregnant
24. I gave birth to ...on
25. Other children include

My parents have been divorced for 27 years and I think that all of the above questions are tasteful and appropriate.

4 out of 5 starsKeepsake Journal, 2007-04-05
This is a very nice book for recording your life for grandchildren; my only complaint is that in this world of combined families it is difficult to record facts, past and present, of ex-spouses and current husbands. There is one section for Grandpa; well my grandchildren call my current husband Grandpa, as well as my ex. There is no place to record for both. So I will probably just fill in what I can and leave the rest blank. With a family that is still "intact" this is a great journal.
