Evidence Bible, 2005-05-07
This treatise is second only perhaps to Glannon's Civ Pro as a law school study aid. Unlike Glannon though, this book would have enough depth to serve as a general guide for a practitioner. It is extremely easy to find the information you need: the index is comprehensive, the rule being covered is on the top corner of every page, and a topic for every paragraph is included in the margin. The text is straightforward and accessible with a good mix of black letter, rationales, and history/background. This is by far the best single volume treatise on evidence that I've found - and I've looked at every one in my school's law library.
