 Perfect book for real life situations, 2008-11-24
We bought this book in April, and it has come in handy! Our son has tried to eat sand, soap, coffee, dirt and several other "odd" things! So we are constantly saying examples from this book! He as well has started to recite things, as if to remind us. I definately recommend this book to anyone with curious children!

Leslie Patricelli's baby books are funny for parents and babies - no mean feat in less than 100 words. This little oval-headed baby is the best. I recommend all of her books for parents of babies and toddlers.

This is a YUMMY!, 2008-10-30
While my baby is only 7 months, I bought this to start reading time and she loves to look at the simple pictures. I heard of this book through the YMCA I am attending and every day during story time the kids were always pulling this book out so the leader decided to read it. It was great to watch the toddlers interact with the book! On each page the kids were yell out the appropriate "yummy" or "yucky"! wonderful book!

 Read before buying, 2008-07-15
I love this author-- we have a few of her other books such as Big, Little and Quiet, Loud. My 16 month old daughter absolutely adores them. I was disappointed by the content of this particular book. Things such as chicken, fish sticks, hamburgers, cookies and chocolate sauce are illustrated as being "yummy". We happen to be vegetarian so I wish I had known about the animals listed as food items. But beyond that, listing chocolate sauce, cookies and ice cream for this age group is risky. I don't plan on introducing those things to her diet yet so I'm planning on returning the book to Amazon. I think the content should be a bit more baby/toddler friendly, and a bit more health conscious. How about listing apple sauce as yummy instead of chocolate sauce?
