Great series, 2010-02-28 I read books 2-6 over the past week and really enjoyed the series. Still tracking down the first book. Books 4-6 are a trilogy in the middle of the series and 6 wrapped most things up nicely, while dropping several new cliff hangers. I would have given this 5 stars, but like so many reviewers have noted, it's time to bring resolution to the love triangle or is that quadrangle. It's worn out and has become unbelievable. Bond should at least let Peter down. It's unbecoming that Carlotta is using him for his potential connection to her father, and it's not in keeping with her character.
Flaws notwithstanding, it's a fun, light read. Enjoy!

Yeah, they're all the same--but it never gets old, 2010-02-03 This cliff-hanger sixth novel in Bond's popular Body Movers
series picks up directly where book number five, 5 Bodies to
Die For, left off. Intrepid heroine Carlotta Wren is still
ill-advisedly on the Charmed Killer case, only her part in
it keeps getting more tangled.
Now Carlotta's troubled friend, Coop, the former coroner who
lost his job and his license when he arrived at the scene of
an accident drunk and pronounced an injured woman dead, has
been arrested as the Charmed Killer. So far, only the
charges for one of the six slaying have stuck, but
Carlotta's on a mission to prove that someone else--pretty
much anyone else--was the murderer. Unfortunately, despite
her enthusiasm, Carlotta's friends' support piddles away as
their suspicions about Coop mount. Even Carlotta is
hard-pressed to find substantial proof of Coop's
innocence--in fact, she keeps piling up more circumstantial
evidence against him.
Meanwhile, as this series is written somewhat like a soap
opera, Carlotta's younger brother, Wesley, is in trouble.
Again. Not only has he not been able to keep his word or
dig himself out of the hole, he keeps digging the hole
deeper and lying through his teeth to everyone. The
struggling relationship he's been fostering with his
co-worker, Meg Vincent, crumbles under the weight of those
lies, and his friends and his sister also come to feel the
pressure. Wes's undercover work as a "collections agent"
for the local mobster continues as normal until Wes uses one
of his collections in a poker game that he's really too high
to participate in.
With the discovery that their missing father, Randolph, has
been spying on them since he fled from justice a decade
earlier, Carlotta and Wesley have to wonder: when will the
drama in the lives of the Wren family ever slacken?
6 Killer Bodies is written exactly as its predecessors have
been. It's both funny and moving and despite the madcap
quality of the story the characters are truly believable.
Carlotta is clever and snoopy and doesn't know her own self
very well while her brother is sweet but too smart for his
own good and absolutely lacking in ambition.
Carlotta's romances--three of them!--continue to suffer, as
her renewed relationship with her former fiance, Peter
Ashford, deteriorates due to lack of common interest. The
budding romance with Coop withers on the vine since he
continues to distance himself from her in the face of his
legal, personal, and possibly medical problems. Turns out
the Wrens are just as unlucky in love as they are in every
thing else.
Readers will definitely find themselves rooting for Carlotta
and Wes even as they roll their eyes or shout at the book
when one of the two does something stupid. It is a
must-read for those who have read any of the previous five
novels, and those who haven't will enjoy the drama and the
comedy without being confused about what's going on.

No conclusions for Carlotta, 2009-07-13 While the killer gets caught, there are many unanswered questions that go on and on. But, if you are a fan of the series, ya just can't quit now.

Lucky Me, 2009-07-04 I was lucky enough to find this series with the first six books already written. I flew through them in a week. Unfortunately, I imagine I have quite the wait until the next one.
One thing I really like about this series is that the events of the books all take place over maybe a month or two. I hate series where months have passed between books, but you don't know what has occurred during those months. In the BodyMovers series, they pick up exactly where the action stopped in the last book, so you feel like you don't miss a minute.
I might be getting a little tired of all the love drama. I enjoy a triangle as much as the next person, but I do have some issues with this one. Carlotta needs to be a bit more honest with herself, and not lead all these men on. I think after the ending of Book 6 we will see some sort of progress (one way or another) between her and Jack.
Enjoyable book. Keep them coming.

Love this series!, 2009-06-20 The Body Movers series is one of my favorites. There is mystery, romance and comedy in every book. It's up there with Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum Series. The many characters are colorful, complex, and crack me up... everything you want in a good book. I love every one of the Body Mover books. I've read all 6 and I'm now impatiently awaiting #7. I'm an avid reader and have read many mysteries, romances and chicklits - trust me, Stepanie Bond has hit a home run with this series. I love it!
