Product Description
By following the story of Mimi's bath-time ritual, babies and toddlers will develop an awareness of their own bodies and have fun imitating Mimi, as her mama, Jane, washes her 'from her feet to her nose.' Mimi's Toes Bath Book is squeezable and floatable, and can be enjoyed in and out of the tub.

5 out of 5 starsBest Baby Einstein book by far, 2008-11-14
I'm not sure why other have reviewed this so poorly. My 5 month old has 6 of the Baby Einstein books and this is her favorite by far, and the only one she gets excited about when I begin to read it. The illustrations are bright and happy and the rhythm is so great I enjoy reading it and she loves hearing the repeating line over and over again. It's fun to listen to and fun to read - I never get tired of it! I try reading others and the don't keep her attention. I go back to this one and she's all eyes and ears again.

The other Einstein books are just okay. They don't read as well and some are downright lame, using any words to get a rhyme. We REALLY DISLIKE "water water everywhere". I think this book may be more appropriate for girls though.

Regarding the PVC, I will not let her chew on it (which she likes to do too), but that's ok because she would prefer I read it to her.

my daughter is 16 months, and absolutely adores this book. she sits though it, the whole thing. she knows the book by name also. she'll run to me carrying her book and say "mimi"!!!! now, is it just me, or does anyone else out there think all the 1 star reviewers are incredibly uptight??! it's just a BABY book!

2 out of 5 starsPoorly written story., 2007-06-12
My 17 month old daughter loves books, so I bought this at the bookstore for her to read in the tub. Unfortunately (like most baby bathtub books) it was sealed up, so there was no way I could preview it before I bought it. The writing style is very awkward, and longish for a toddler book. My daughter, who usually loves being read to, has no patience for me reading each page on this one. She flips through the pages to look at the pictures, but then tires of it quickly and moves on to other tub toys. I've learned my lesson to check out Amazon reviews on sealed books before I blindly shell out the cash!

1 out of 5 starsUnreadable, 2007-05-29
Like most Baby Einstein books, this one was written by someone who had some pedagogic objective in mind but absolutely no feel for how children's books should read. Clumsily written and awkward to read outloud.

5 out of 5 starsOur Daughter's Favorite book, 2007-02-13
I originally purchased this book for our daughter when she was only 9 months. We never used it in the bath, because she loves to listen to it at bedtime. Everytime I would read it, I would act out the "see mama wash mimi from her feet to her nose and then come back and tickle mimi's toes". Every page my daughter laughed. She is now 18 months and it has been one of the most consistently requested books in her collection (she has TONS of books). [As a side note about PVC, how many of us had vinyl books when we were younger and didn't get sick from them? And, I'm the one who handles the book and turns the pages most of the time. I think the post about the PVC is alarmist, but glad to see that the publisher is considering phasing out the material since it has questionable safety issues.] All in all - PVC or non-PVC - I highly recommend this book for your young ones.
