Product Description
Real estate investment is the best tax-advantaged road to wealth available today. Through depreciation, real estate investments have the potential to provide tax-free income for years, even shielding other income from taxation. And when the time comes to sell off the investments, capital gains taxes can even be legally deferred or eliminated—that is, if investors know the secrets.

Richard T. Williamson, Esq., a renowned real estate attorney, has compiled these tips and more into a nontechnical, straightforward look at how individuals can use the tax code to their advantage. From the simple to the sophisticated, the author explores various tax deferral and elimination methods, discusses the pros and cons, and gives examples of how they work in everyday practice.

Geared toward real estate investors, apartment building owners, developers, Realtors, financial planners, and accountants, Tax Secrets of Millionaire Real Estate Investors explains how readers can:

• Build wealth tax-free.
• Shelter real estate income from taxes.
• Buy and sell real estate without being taxed.
• Minimize taxes on final divestment.
• Create tax-advantaged streams of income at retirement.

Tax Secrets of Millionaire Real Estate Investors describes commonplace tax-deferral devices like installment sales and 1031 exchanges, as well as the lesser-known private annuity trusts and charitable remainder tax-advantaged trusts. Williamson also includes case histories, sample forms, relevant IRS codes, and sample IRS forms and publications.

5 out of 5 starsLos Angeles Times review was on the money!, 2005-08-03
After reading a review of this book in the Los Angeles Times I went and bought this book for myself. I skimmed over the various chapters and have read the ones that were most important to my situation. I certainly agree with the very favorable review it received in many ways. But, most importantly, you don't have to be a millionaire investor to get a wealth of information that this book provides. Easy read, too!

Finally, a book that makes the IRS easier to understand. Through his real life examples and charts, it's made easy for me. After reading this book, my family & friends now think I'm an expert. I'm telling my accountant what I need to do! Who would of thought? I highly reccommend this book.
