Vet's Guide to Benefits, 4th Edition, 2008-10-08 Not really chock full of all that great of information as compared to the 2008 Vet Benefits Guide published by the VA, or the Complete Idiots Guide to Vet Benefits. This one has some good info, but it is in ways incomplete as to everything a military vet should expect. After reading it I believe I could have lived without this one.

GOOD SOURCE OF INFORMATION FOR VETS, 2007-01-14 The book was good but actually I had picked up a copy of the same info
from the local VA hospital for no cost.

May be useful to some, 2005-05-04 I had hoped this book would have advice on applying for VA benefits, but its mostly a description of benefits and eligibility. Fifty of the 250 pages is simply a listing of VA facilities, which you can easily look up online, in your local phone book, or by calling the national benefits number.
The information is the same thing I got from the VA, and since the book covers many programs, it doesn't go into depth about any program or how to avoid problems applying for benefits. It's likely that only a small portion of the book applies to you unless you have a 100% service connected disability. If that isn't you, I recommend browsing the book at a bookstore before you decide to buy.
Most of the information in this book is available online at the VA website.

If you're a vet. then you should read this book., 2005-01-09 There is not a veteran (or dependent of a veteran) that will not benefit from reading this book.
I am Vietnam Era veteran, and upon reading this book I discovered entitlements that I had that I had did not know about.
The book covers every benefit. Especially useful to me were the sections on health care, burial allowances and VA Home a loans. I didn't know I could live in the South Pacific and buy a house with a VA home loan. Nice Idea.
Budahn's writing style is straight forward, he cuts through the Bureaucratic babble that normally accompanies government legalize. His words ring true: "Change is certain for VA programs. Make sure you have the latest information. Get this book. Highly recommended.

Useful Tool for Vets, Families, 2002-12-30 When my son was thinking about enlisting, this book was very helpful in letting him understand the benefits that go with being a veteran. Later, when my father was in declining health, we turned to this book again for a summary of the VA benefits available to him as a World War II veteran. It was very helpful, with explanations in simple English and a focus on the interests of people.
