Picking up where The Vanishings left off, Second Chance is just that: at the close of book one, Judd, Vicki, Lionel, and Ryan met up at New Hope Village Church and got the Good News from now-humbled pastor Bruce Barnes (who, despite his degree from Bible college, got left behind after the Rapture for failing to receive Christ, just like the kids). Lionel, nixed by the Messiah on a technicality in book one, jumps at the chance to join the winning team, but the other kids are too angry and confused after watching their world get turned upside down. Book two follows their search for truth as they piece together the wreckage of the Rapture in each of their lives, knowing full well that the end of the world isn't far off--just seven years, according to Bruce, once Israel signs a treaty with the Antichrist. By the book's end, two more Left Behind kids wise up, but one holds out, still too scared and mad to sign on.  Wonderful series for kids, 2008-08-02
My eleven year old son started this series and was captivated. I have read the adult versions when they first came out and was equally enthralled. My son is an avid reader, and especially enjoys what I think of as "secular boys fantasy". These books satisfy his desire for something fast paced and exciting, and also teaches him about what the Scriptures foretell about the end of the world as we know it. He's read the first 30 or 35 books, and is anxiously awaiting a back order of the last 5 books. I'd be thrilled if there were another 40 books of Christian fiction for him to immerse himself in. I highly recommend this series for kids, and the adult version for their parents. Thrilling & absorbing plot, well developed characters, and a better understanding of what some think of as an intimidating book of the Bible. What's better than that?

 Why continue to be deceived..., 2006-06-26
Tim LaHaye, Jerry Jenkins, and others in the Pre-Trib circle, such as Ed Hindson, Tommy Ice, Chuck Missler, etc., continue to put forth the same deceptions that Hal Lindsey popularized decades ago. The notion of a pre-tribulation rapture is foreign to scripture, it is foreign to the teachings of the early Church, and it is grooming the Church for destruction through ignorance and lack of preparation for what is really coming. These men are novices and not prophecy "experts" or "scholars" by any stretch of the imagination; they are those who tickle the ears of gullible Christians. Why continue to be deceived? Tim Cohen, in his excellent book, "The AntiChrist and a Cup of Tea," provides biblically sound and testable evidence to show that the coming AntiChrist is known NOW. Not only that, the same author (Tim Cohen) has now put out the strongest presentation on the whole issue of the rapture EVER offered to the saints of God in Christ: "The REAL Rapture". If you really want to know the truth about the timing of the coming rapture, then you need to hear Tim Cohen's "The REAL Rapture" (based on a volume in his forthcoming "Messiah, History, and the Tribulation Period" series (see Prophecy House's web site, prophecyhouse dot com, for details on these items).

 The book was okay I guess, 2006-05-23
The book was okay I guess but I found it a bit of a scare tactic and used as a way to convert non-christians into going to church which you shouldn't do.
The book started off where the first left us. All four kids are at the church and Lionel has accepted christ but the other three want to wait. Finally they break up. Lionel and Ryan go off and Vicki and Judd do the same. By the end Lionel's uncle is dead and two more of the kids have come to christ.
Maybe it's just me but I think the writers are going for a Judd Vicki pairing later on down the road. I hope so but you never know.

LEFT BEHIND Second Chance By Jerry B. Jenkins This book is GREAT if you're a Christian for a belief. I loved this book because it has an excellent use of language and has you sitting on the edge of your seat for the next exciting chapter to begin. This book is realistic fiction. The characters are Jud, Vicky, Ryan and Lionel. You will be upset at some times but it will clear up. I enjoyed this book so much. I hope you do to!
