Awesome FUN!, 2000-09-24
My 17 month old son loves this book! (as do I)...it's catchy, cute, and whimsical with fun illustrations. He especially gets a kick out of the end, identifying with the kid: "I love you spider, said the kid, you don't sting or bite or prickle. You're a funny creepy crawlie and I love the way you tickle." I'd love to find out how to order the rest in the series and the other Bang on the Door listings as they're out of print. Can anyone help?

awesome, 2000-02-16
I ran across the "bang on the door" books by coincidence in England. The first one we purchased was "Plankton." My two year old forever more will know what Plankton is and does in the ocean due to this humorous and creative rhyme. When we ran across "Spider" I was so impressed again with the colorful rhyme and teaching of why people react to spiders and how this makes the spider feel (an important aspect of a child's development) that I purchased it right away. Now I'm buying many more of "Spider" books and the rest of the series for gifts. A sure winner.

the least of nature still has a story to tell, 1999-12-27
my son and I both enjoyed two books from this series: Spider and Brain Cell. The rhyme was catchy and easy to read. The messages in each story were appropriate for his age. The artwork in the story and on the inside cover were helpful in teaching him the general shapes of alot of different animals that you don't normally have a story written about.

Definitely a top ten in picture books. The language is clever and the pictures are humorous. Kids will love the action and parents will enjoy a sophistication not often found in the picture book genr
