Nothing about this book will irk you., 2007-10-21 Before I read the book, I noticed that some reviewers complained about how dumb and immature they found the story's heroine, Zanita. Sure she is, but not to any unusual degree; there are lots of people like her in the real world, who think (really, she thinks foolish things more often than she does them) in a way that seems foolish to an outside observer. Almost the entire novel follows the romantic relationship between Tyber and Zanita, which is very sweet and affectionate. The love/sex scenes are good - fairly brief, but plentiful, and exciting without being vulgarly graphic. I recommend High Energy without reservation as there is very little not to like about it.

Like no Physics Prof I ever had!, 2007-05-19 Tyber is a genius, but, unlike most physicists I know, also has a high level of interpersonal skills! Very high. He's gorgeous, also. And rich. And funny. He's takes a liking to a clueless but gorgeous woman who wanders into his class by accident looking for a psychic's class. (She can't spell).
In fact Tyber is a great character, and the relationship between these two protagonists is fun. They quickly fall into the dynamics of being a couple together, though Zanita doesn't want to commit. And their relationship as a couple, together with a mystery to solve, is what this book is about more than their romance or getting to know each other.
This isn't my favorite book by Dara Joy. But I give it a B-. Tyber certainly goes down as one of the good characters she's created. Alongside Traede, from Rejar, and Gian Ren. I guess I didn't like Zanita as much. She comes across as a madcap - in the Lois Lane mold, someone who has to be rescued from her own adventures.
There is a little bit of physics in the book. It is woven in sort of the way Karen Marie Moning wove physics into her romance titled Kiss of the Highlander. So the two elements - someone who is both brilliant and personable, coupled with a sprinkling of physics, made this book interesting to me!

Trouble spelling, 2005-08-13 It was lucky that Zanita could not spell Psychic and ended up in the Physics lecture. This story had me laughing out loud. The situations and the dialog are wonderful. I was laughing so hard at some passages...how Zanita and Tyber first met and their first "encounter" together...that my 2 dogs were giving me that head tilting look that dogs do. This is by far one of my all time favorite Dara Joy books...it's a keeper.

A Physicist With the CUTEST BUNS!, 2005-06-25 This is the first Dara Joy novel that I have read. Usually I read historicals and not contemp. Cutting the summary short, this is a story of Zanita, a reporter and Tyber a physicist/professor. Although this is a romance it has a little bit of mystery to it when they "join forcs" to nail the evil wanna-be-psychic. Dara does a great job of developing the characters ..esp. Tyber. He is sexy, smart, goofy, funny and caring (with the buns of steel ;) Heck if I had a physics professor like this, I might of changed my major to physics altogether. Even the rest of the characters are lovable, like cute Cody & Zanita's outspoken Auntie that "tapped" Tyber's motocycle. If you are looking for a light summer read, don't look further. You book grabs you from the very first sentence (unlike other books that take pages and pages describing the scenery and such.) The reason I gave this book 4 stars was simple. It had more sizzle than heart. Don't get me wrong, it was well written. BUT, it has that special something missing and I just couldn't put my finger on it.
