No "Real" Holidays included, 2008-07-22 I am a stay at home mom of a 2 year old and a 3 year old, and was anxious to get some good ideas for teaching with projects to reinforce--this book will be great for that. I am, however, disappointed that under the "Holidays" section, none of the major holidays are covered. I was hoping to get some good seasonal ideas. I read a review in which someone mentioned something for the "Third week in November"...logically, one would assume Thanksgiving would be covered in the section (atleast I did). But, no, it's Children's Book Week. Which is great...but seriously, I would think Thanksgiving activities would be a little more realistic. So, I will be needing a book of holiday activities to supplement this. We'll still do the activities for these weeks...just not during other holidays.

Great for ideas, 2008-01-19 I like the way this book is setup. I checked it out from a local library and decided I needed to buy it..

It is a very good resource for teachers, 2007-10-25 The book is a very good resource for teachers. As it follows themes which are relevent to the child it is pretty interesting.

Love it, 2007-07-31 I bought this book unsure of how my daughter was going to spend her summer vacation- I just knew I didn't like the idea of her sitting in front of the television all day. This book turned out to be one of the best purchases I have made towards at home lessons. Everything is easy to understand- the more difficult lessons also have pictures for explanations. The products needed for the lessons are cheap and can usually already be found at home. Each week contains a different theme (all of interest to pre-schoolers and kindergarters). For example, the five senses, colors, ladybugs, teddy bears, monsters. Not only are special themes mentioned but also there are separate categories for each class- science, art, and language. Last week, my daughter and I worked on the senses of hearing and touch. One of the games she really enjoyed was the listening hunter were you close your eyes and have to find the bell- something similar to hide and seek with the need to rely on hearing rather than seeing. This book provides simple idea, yet creative, that can keep the children as well as yourself entertained anywhere for 5-30 minutes while the children learn and apply different concepts in school.

Great ideas..., 2007-07-15 Perfect book for preschool activities...hands down. Would absolutely recommend to daycare providers, preschool teachers and stay at home moms. Some of the activities require more work than others...glue, markers, pens, pencils, colored paper...etc...but worth it!
Of course, you'll have to do some work on Sunday to prepare for the week ahead's theme and activities.
