An excellent treatment of the subject, 2002-08-27
This nice little book is published by the Insurance Information Institute for the education of reinsurance laymen. It covers a lot of ground efficiently and logically, at a level of explanation appropriate to the target audience. Frank and direct commentary on the problems and issues facing the industry keep this book from being the propaganda piece it could have been. A glossary and index aid the reader in comprehension. My only complaint is that some of the later chapters bog down in minutia, and the quality of writing is somewhat inconsistent from chapter to chapter (i.e. author to author). Overall however, this is an excellent treatment of the subject.
