Life changing, 2008-08-27 I listened to the audio version of this book first. After my first time, I wanted to understand every tiny part of it, so I listened to it several times in my car. Then, I wanted to highlight certain aspects of it, so I read the book so I could highlight information that was most important to me. I have been reading self-help, personal development books for over 30 years. This is THE most useful one I have ever read. I would have gained more from the others if I had read this one first (of course it had not been written yet!) If you are interested in personal development and/or helping yourself become successful in any part of your life, this little book is the first one you should buy. It is definately life changing!

Not Original, but Still Worth Reading for a New Perspective, 2008-06-27 I knew just from reading the title where this book was going to go... I am a fan and student of Anthony Robbins and this book contains not only a similar philosophy for maximizing ones potential in life, but also some of the EXACT psychological though processes and historical anecdotes Robbins uses in his teachings. Robbins even has popularized a term and named one of his courses as "Get the Edge..." I do not want to compare, but it is inevitable with such similarities. This book gets -5 stars for lack of originality.
I also thought the book could have been written with a little more eloquence and finesse. It comes across as very choppy in style, but at the same time makes for an overall easy (and speedy) read. -1 star for the 8th grade level writing.
Overall, I feel the author did society a great service by putting out another book with a positive message for giving people hope and instilling confidence in those who want more out of life. Any person faced with a challenge will benefit from this book, whether they are just starting out in life or whether they are in a dark place and seeking to empower themselves with a road map on how to simply improve their lives on a professional, physical, or an emotional level. +8 stars for the message.
This is a good starting point book, but I highly recommend anything written by Anthony Robbins and more importantly I recommend his seminars to capture the full experience.
TOTAL SCORE: +2 stars

waste of time, 2008-05-19 I was curious and bought this book as read many good reviews. Read it and was quite disappointed. He is like a preacher, the same thing all the time through the whole book. To me it seems like it was written for idiots. Any normal person knows what he is writing about and there is no need to say the same thing over and over again. Too much about "how great I am". To me the book is too boring....

useful!, 2008-05-01 I was given this book as a gift and had not heard of the author or title previously. I have since given copies to several people myself. Olson has a great way of making sense of things I've heard before but had not applied. From the first chapter he reeled me in. I find myself using his theories on a regular basis. I enjoy authors who can take something you may have heard before or ignored and turn it into something brilliantly simple that makes you say "duh, now I get it, and why am I not doing that?!"
