3 out of 5 starsScience or fantasy?, 2008-07-29
I asked myself is this book fantasy or reality?
Some ideas appear to me as a result of a serious investigation.
The author has strong opinions and seems that he is trying hard to convince us.
His style of writing is dry but because the information is important and argumentative, I had an interest in reading the whole book.

2 out of 5 starsGreer Misleads, 2007-10-28
When discussing Greer and his books one is forced to reconcile his accomplishments in bringing the UFO reality to the public in a credible way - with what he actually says about the ET's themselves. First the accomplishments. Greer has written 'ET Contact' as well as 'Disclosure', citing well documented proof that the US governernment has extensive knowledge of ET visitation as well as knowledge of advanced 'zero point' technology that could quite revolutionize how the world works. Greer advocates for disclosure, so that, in addition to officially joining the galactic community, as it were, the public could then access this free energy that would help usher in a new standard of living for mankind. A pretty noble aim it would seem.

The problem with all this is that Greer claims that the ETs are here to help us. He claims that any encounters that are likened to abductions in peoples' experience are either a) misinterpreted as hurtful due to our own misunderstanding or b) induced entirely by black-ops to create the impression of a malign ET/Human interaction. Well, the very sad fact of the matter is that there is MUCH evidence which supports the idea that there is a malevolent influence of ET's upon the human race; Read Edward Bramley's 'God's of Eden', or David Jabob's 'The Threat' then read Laura Knight-Jadczyk's 'High Strangeness' to get a much better picture of what's occurring. Technological advancement does not imply altruistic intent! Human beings are far more technologically advanced than, say, sheep. As above so below.

The author of this book is a paranoid man with delusions of grandeur. Their books seem to spend more time talking about how amazing he is (making such claims as being able to levitate and summon ufo's on a whim) and doesn't actually give any real evidence. You are better off looking for interesting evidence with a google search, this book is not worth the money.

1 out of 5 starsI have been to a Greer "training", 2007-05-04
Like this book, the training was full of fantasy and imagination. Unlike this book, it was not full of extra-terrestial experiences. Rather, for me, the training was full of social-psychological phenomena. Some would call it "group think."

Greer, a dominating personality fascinated as much with himself, his thoughts and imagination as he is with ETs, seems to have a core group of followers, a majority of whom are single women. They are his resident "experts" at these trainings and report seeing what Greer suggests they will see. (We call it "priming" the crowd.) The group dynamics are incredible! Some of these women observe with their eyes shut or tightly "squinting" and report what they have seen as reality -- always ETs or avatars, of course. Greer approves and calls them experienced observers. Others, who see nothing, are told to stick with it and as they believe and practice, they, too will see. (Sort of like, if you read enough, believe enough, you will see Jesus.)

If you like science fantasy, this book could be entertaining though frustrating because of the remarkably juvenile, repetitious writing style. If you want facts, go elsewhere.
