A Keeper, 2008-09-30 I am using this book for my capstone MBA Strategy class. It provides a great breakdown of Porter's 5 Forces analysis, competitive advantage and business strategy. It's a great book that I'll hold on to for future reference (I don't keep all of my books).

Best book to learn global strategies, 2008-08-31 Very useful textbook used in many MBA courses. If you're starting to learn strategies first time, this book is the most useful. It contains many basic informations and global cases also.

Informal Tone and Rather Strangely Written, 2007-12-03 If you were to write a book on business strategy, what examples would you use on page 1 to illustrate successful strategy? If you are Robert M. Grant, you would sing the praises of Madonna, the communist north Vietnamese army, and Lance Armstrong. Likewise, how would you explain diversification? If you are Robert M. Grant, you would say "Diversification is like sex: its attractions are obvious, often irresistible. Yet, the experience is often disappointing." (Page 409) These are but two examples of the author's odd writing style. However, if these examples of business strategy appeal to you, this is your book.

Great business dictionary, 2005-02-22 Well to be honest I always had a hard time getting through the piles of books during business school. But this "brick" opened my eyes and I actually ended up reading it out of pure pleasure. If you are remotely interested in business you should get this. It sums up many of the conclusions made by the great economists. Get one - and save yourself the cost of 10 others.

The whole course on Strategy leverages this book as a reader throughout and it is truly a wonderful collection tools, techniques and models for the student and business manager alike.A must have for people involved in defining and setting strategy
