    4 out of 5 starsGood Text, 2010-04-19
This is a great book for anyone with any interest in being self-employed. It reads like a text book, and is very easy to find different topics. It has useful facts about the recent past years and statistics about self-employed people.
Great read and great tool for me and my self-employed self.

5 out of 5 starsUnderstanding tax implications made easier, 2010-02-18
Despite a good background in accounting, I found deciphering newer law and tax issues for a small business nearly overwhelming. After many visits to the IRS pages and several phone calls to their offices, I let my fingers do the walking and purchased Fishman's guide. How I wish I had started with this book. It is easy to understand, comprehensive enough for most small businesses, and organized into sections that are clearly indexed. I made several business decision with ease this year because I had read the tax implications and understood what was important in planning and what could be a big mistake. Anyone who plans ahead for business profitability will benefit from the expertise available in this guide.

4 out of 5 starsBooks like this always leave me with more questions than answers, 2009-12-22
I have read through this book and others like it several times, and while I do feel that the way the information in this book is well presented, I always find that more questions arise than are answered when it comes to being self-employed. No matter how I end up slicing it, it always seems as though books like this are leading me to have to hire someone to handle my taxes and provide me with step-by-step guidance for my (an any person's) individual situation. There just doesn't seem to be any cut & dry information for independent earners.

5 out of 5 starsGreat resourse guide., 2009-11-09
I bought this as a gift for my daughter-in-law who is starting a small business, she liked it very much.
I have also gotten some great ideas for myself. I am purchasing a copy for my own usage, I think it has some most valuable information.

4 out of 5 starsGood Basic How To, 2009-10-16
A good book for folks who want a basic intro. You can go from this to more detailed reviews, but this provides a good outline.
