5 out of 5 starsLoved This Book, 2008-07-19
I recently read this book as part of a neighborhood book club. Everyone in the group loved this book.

The book starts by discribing the importance of "Family Manager." It gives a 2 page list of all of the many jobs that must be accomplished in a home to keep it running smoothly. It gives great ideas on how to get your family invovled. This book then moves on to various topics that are important in the home. These include: Finances, organization, personal time, time management, meal planning, family respect, long term goals, etc. It helps each family to develope their own "Mission Statement."

I have already used many of the ideas from this book in my home. My kids love having dinner time jobs and have created a job chart to assign duties such as cooking, setting the table, clearing, and loading the dishwasher.

I used the methods from this book to clean my closet, my daughter's room, and the family room. Our home is a happier place to be.

This a great book with easy to use ideas to improve family life. Make sure you keep a notebook handy while you read!

Thanks Kathy for a wonderful book.

Not many books will tell you that God says your husband has the ultimate say in all family/household decisions. This one will. It goes down hill from there.
I read a minimum of 1 book a day (non-fiction and fiction!) and I've never felt strongly enough to write a review on any website. This is a first (and hopefully a last!)

This book has some great real life examples that I think most women will relate to. I also found this to be an easy read.

5 out of 5 starsReally enjoyed this book, 2007-08-23
I had a "lightbulb moment" when I read this book, specifically the part about some of us being right-brained, and some left. I always just assumed I should be (would be) organized, because I am Type A. But that's really not how I'm wired...not what "fills me up"...I'd much rather paint a wall or make a scrapbook than organize a closet.

A lot of this you've heard before, but I think the author gives a lot of good illustrations and provides much-needed perspective on several issues. I also like the tables that specify problem areas with solutions.

I would love to be able to afford a Family Manager consultation, but on a budget, this is a good substitute.
