The Jarvis textbook and laboratory manual are very good books that help students learn health assessment. The pocket companion is a great little book -- it is really helpful that it is so easy to carry. I believe most nursing students will find that the pocket companion is a great addition to their health assessment and nursing library.

I'm a new LVN grad and I love this book. It's a handy, small reference for the basics of assessment and was more detailed than I expected.
