Not so sweet, 2008-12-28 In this cookbook I expected to find practical recipes. There were too many strange ingredients that didnt even sound good. The sweetner choices werent much better. I didnt find any of the recipes appetizing or compatible with our diet. We are on a gluten free casein free diet and we are trying for sugar free. This book wouldve been better using more stevia or erythritol.

mmmmmm, 2008-08-24 So far so good. The sugar cookies are really good and filling. Most all of the ingredients were at the local natural food store with one exception but it is fine. I am looking forward to trying the rest of the recipes and the health benefits to overcome my own sugar addiction.

Don't be frustrated!!!, 2008-04-02 If you have taken the time to order this book from Amazon, then you should stop and do a search for the ingredients you are whimpering about. They're right here and can be delivered right to your home. As for substitutions, your Google search should alleviate your other concerns. Stop typing reviews and start researching, you'll feel better.

Frustrated!, 2008-02-19 I don't like to give poor reviews, but I feel I should let others know that this book has not met my expectations. I am currently eating gluten and sugar-free, so naturally this book appealed to me! However, it seems to be just too hard to use. First of all, the list of required cooking equipment fills an entire page. (Granted, it is written in a large font, but there are -37- items on the list.) Second, I am unable to find many of the ingredients, like flavoured liquid stevia (she lists a few different flavours), Stevia Plus Powder, Valrhona unsweetened dark cocoa powder, etc. I am willing to make the extra effort to cook gluten/sugar-free, but if several of the ingredients are unavailable in my local, well-stocked health food stores, I begin to get discouraged. Third, there are no substitutions listed, in case you don't have the exact ingredients. Fourth, the lists of ingredients for the recipes are quite long and the explanations are sometimes unclear. Though this book seemed like a great choice at first, I have not made a single recipe from it because it just seems so impractical. If you are willing to order/purchase a number of specialized ingredients and equipment, this book may work for you. (The recipes do sound delicious.) I am accustomed to buying special flours and ingredients, but this is too much for me.
