Editorial Reviews
Product Description
This ringbound book provides an up-to-date digest of federal publications on selling products and services to the federal government. It has vital information on the various programs that can help you position your business for contracting opportunities throughout the Federal Government. In the introduction, there is a review about how the Government buys products and services, plus data on regulations, policies, and best practices. There is a thorough discussion of small business size standards and regulations governing this topic, and a step-by-step process on how to register your small business for various contracting programs including business matchmaking events and review small business certification programs. There is material to walk you through the process of preparing your bid. The government buys many of the products and services it needs from suppliers who meet certain qualifications. It applies standardized procedures by which to purchase goods and services. That is, the government does not purchase items or services in the way an individual household might. Instead, government contracting officials use procedures that conform to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). Learning how the government buys, understanding the responsibilities of contractors and recognizing subcontracting and procurement opportunities are the first steps to navigating this complex world of contracting. The Federal Acquisition Regulations System is established for the codification and publication of uniform policies and procedures for acquisition by all executive agencies. The Federal Acquisition Regulations System consists of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), which is the primary document, and agency acquisition regulations that implement or supplement the FAR. The vision for the Federal Acquisition System is to deliver on a timely basis the best value product or service to the customer, while maintaining the public's trust and fulfilling public policy objectives. Disappointing
, 2008-04-22
This product was especially disappointing. The information that is available in this purchase is available for free online. Much of the information is already outdated and barely skims information on the topics it says it discusses. The information looks to be a direct copy right off of government web-pages as it comes to you in different fonts and sizes.
On the upside, they did put it into a single binder for you. I would recommend that everyone take a moment and preview the free government tutorials and information already available. They are more up-to-date and completely free.
