It's On My List!, 2008-12-06
I am a therapist and do a great deal of marriage counseling. I always have a "suggested reading" book list to give to clients. This book has just gone on my list. It is written in such a simple and understandable fashion, with great chapter format. Also, without jargon that often makes someone put a book down. Thank you, Patti, for writing this book. I hope that other therapists will pick it up and recommend it to their clients as well.

The Emotionally Unavailable Man, 2008-11-18
Patti Henry's book is the most helpful, common sense book I have read on relationships. No matter how you feel your problem plays out, you will find understanding and helpful insight into a problem that is probably most common to all relationships - lack of communication. What is especially encouraging, particularly for men, is that this book is written with much empathy for the situation that many men are in. With this book, however, there is no excuse for them to stay there! A 'must read' for all who desire healthy relationships, for themselves and their children.

What a happy surprise, 2008-11-17
Now I am in the final stretches of my first novel and I have special needs because the fire of truth is hotter than I have ever seen as this novel ravages my self delusion. The story is based on my travels in Europe at age 18 (1972) and I was blocked in several episodes because my father was a hurricane and although I can handle these memories in day to day situations I did not have the vocabulary to talk about him in the blazing intensity that the novel creates in my heart and mind. Through these exercises I have become un-stuck and I feel a ton of bricks has been removed from my shoulders. Just when I needed it most, this book came into my life. Many thanks to the author.

It saved my marriage, my husband and my life...., 2008-10-27
I found this book by accident (well, I don't really believe in accidents)looking for another book. I am an infidelity survivor and I was looking for books to help me piece my marriage, my self-esteem and my life back together. I found this book and it did all that AND MORE. While not listed as a book about infidelity, it delves into the WHYS of what causes infidelity and many other issues we all face when dealing with men, and men dealing with women and relationships, and all that entails.
If you are a man, know a man, live with a man, or work with a man, you must read this book. ALL engaged couples should read this book, it should be mandatory before getting married. My marriage would be in tatters and who knows where my life would be without this book, and Patti Henry's fantastic insight. She is a life saver and so much more.... I cannot recommend this book enough.

You want all aspects of your life to improve? This is the book!, 2008-10-22
I have just ordered 2 more of these books. One for my girlfriend and one for a good friend in need.
Many, many thanks to Patti for writing the perfect book for myself and I imagine for a whole gaggle of men. I have been in and out of counseling to no particular avail on and off for far too long now. This book is so spot on it's shocking. On my second read "the penny really dropped" and my inaccurate/ineffective behavior of so many years is crystal clear to me now.
Now that i know where and why the start-line exists I can start to do the work i have needed to do for a long time. If you are stuck in a holding pattern with someone you love dearly and want to get to the other side, everything you need to know is in this book.
Buy it. Buy it now and get going. You won't regret it!
