Product Description She Will Never Be Lonely Again . . .
Amanda is happily married to Ed, works as an architect, and likes her life. But disturbances begin to upset her. Odd noises haunt their apartment. She suffers occasional blackouts, yet there is no medical explanation. She and her husband have petty squabbles; Ed seems less than lovable.
The image of a beautiful woman out of her past invades Amanda’s dreams. Instead of a book she had ordered by mail, she receives Demon Possession, Past and Present. Soon after, Amanda accidentally burns her husband with a cigarette. Something seemed to take her over. She begins to study the book on possession. Does everything that has happened have a rational explanation? Are the coincidences that have occurred just that? Or has she been possessed by a female demon known to students of the Kabbalah as Naamah?

Good but . . . , 2008-12-02 This is a very good book that kept my attention. However, I think it is a bit thinly written. I appreciate crisp and clean writing as much as anybody. This book however does it at the expense of character though. The plot is mostly a catalogue/checklist of signs of posession that gives the book a plotless feel. On th whole it feels like a long short story.

Not scary but a little creepy..., 2008-11-14 I don't usually read books in the horror genre, but I picked this up after it was mentioned in the NY Times Book Review. This slim volume can be finished in one sitting, and makes for an entertaining couple of hours.
Amanda works for an architectural firm, and is contentedly (if not blissfully) married to her husband Edward. Her career and marriage unravel as she begins having dark thoughts and acting out hurtful behaviors that she becomes unable to control. Come Closer is unique because it is written in the first person, so it is not clear to the reader whether she is becoming mentally unstable or if she is truly possessed by a demon.
This book is not gory or make you sleep with the light on scary, but it is very creepy ad readable.

I was drawn in straight to the end, 2008-06-02 It's funny, but I bought Come Closer on accident. One of the nicest accidents I think I've ever had in a long time.
I love stories about demons and possession and many authors tend to shy away from these topics. That's why when I began reading it I was drawn straight in. There were constant twists and turns... I only put it down when I had to. Because of the great story and the well written dialogue and scenarios, the novel was a quick read.
For any one who loves stories about demons and possession as much as I do, this is a must read. I know it sounds macabre, but to see her descent was amazing and entertaining to read. By the end, so many things were happening and written so skillfully that you begin wondering what will happen next.
A great read. Highly recommended

we all need a quicky every once and again., 2008-04-09 I enjoyed this book. It was short, more like a journal or a novella. I found it well written and interesting. It was a very creepy little read. I think it would be good to read on a flight. It would definately have you looking at the people around you at the end and wondering.

Very Scary , 2008-03-28 I was unsure of what to expect from this book given the mixed reviews.
As soon as I picked up the book I could not put it down. This is one of the scariest ghost stories I have ever read.
