Product Description

In December, 1943, 20-year-old Army private George Ritchie died of pneumonia. Nine minutes later, he came back profoundly changed. What had happened to him while his dead body lay under a sheet would change his life, and that of his family, friends, and patients.

His first book, Return From Tomorrow, has sold over 200,000 copies and has been translated into nine languages. Now, in Ordered to Return, George Ritchie briefly re-tells the story of that strange experience and then tells what happened later, including the real miracles that he has seen in his years of practice as a physician and psychiatrist.

What's more, using plain, every-day examples from life, he offers penetrating insights into what is wrong with American life today and how it can be set right.

5 out of 5 starsHeaven Can Wait, 2008-06-22
The author was just finishing boot camp when he died of pneumonia in Texas.

He doesn't really know what is happening, but, just like in dreams, he doesn't question little things like flying from Texas to Virginia. Later in life, he actually drove by the café in Mississippi he remembered from his NDE. I'll never look at a Pabst Blue Ribbon beer sign the same after this book.

George goes through the panoramic life review, and describes being taken through 5 realms, the 5th being celestial heaven.

As with everyone else who had an NDE, he came back with great spiritual insights. One of his best is, if you want to find out who your God is in this life, look back at your check stubs for the past 3 years and find out what or who you spent the most money on.

Everone who has an NDE brings back something a little bit different from everyone else, so every one of these books, no matter when it was written, is definitely worth reading.

4 out of 5 starsThis will make you think!, 2008-04-27
Although I may disagree with a few of his concepts, overall it corresponds to all I have learned over the years about the continuation of the soul. He backs up key elements with Biblical passages. He shows how our state of the world today is in many ways far from our soul purpose. He includes footnotes for further research. He includes many of these concepts in his practice as a doctor. A few sections were somewhat boring to me, but there were so many thought provoking concepts that I marked, that I am rating it 4 stars as a beneficial read for spiritual growth.

5 out of 5 starsOrdered to Return, 2008-04-09
This is a sequel to the book Return for Tomorrow, but stands alone. It is basically the story of the author's life after an encounter with Jesus in a near death experience. The book discusses mind opening aspects of Christianity.

This book is an excellent testimony about God's promise. It will renew faith, offer hope and satisfy curiosity about life after our life on Earth.

Didn't enjoy as much as George G. Ritchie's other book Return From Tomorrow, but this book had some good messages.
