Product Description If you want to eat what you like without worrying whether it's OK on a diabetes diet, this book is for you. These recipes allow people with diabetes to eat goodies just like everyone else-from after school treats and TV munchies to midnight snacks. All the dishes, including Tortilla Melts, Sweet Potato Wedges, and Pan Fried Cheese Ravioli, are easy to make. Most take less than 20 minutes to prepare, use fewer than 10 ingredients, and don't require much in the way of cooking skills.

Not really for diabetics, 2008-12-29 I received this book as a gift and I have been rather disappointed by it. I have struggles with hypoglycemia, which I have been treating like diabetes as far as my diet is concerned so I do not develop diabetes.
The recipes in this book are, in general, so-so, though there are some good ones if you are the type of person who likes convenience. A number of recipes use only a collection of a few store-bought ingredients.
The author makes no mention whatsoever of the glycemic index and types of carbohydrates to consume, instead stating that it "doesn't matter" where the carbs come from, only the amount. This is contrary to the most recent research I have read. The recipes use quite a bit of sugar (IMHO), with no consideration of lower-glycemic alternatives such as agave nectar.
I also did not like the number of fried dishes.
Out of the whole book, there are some I can use, but it was not the type of cookbook I expected.

Bought this by mistake, 2008-04-13 I was searching books for dog treats...and wanted diabetic treats for diabetic dogs. Somehow this book showed up in my search and without giving it a good look over, I ordered it. It is a recipe book for people. After looking it over, I found that it had tons of great looking recipes in it. I can't tell you how good they are, because my girlfriend who is diabetic stole it from me. I'm assuming it was good though, because she never gave it back!

So, So Cook Book., 2008-02-10 I was some what unhappy with this cook book. A lot of the recipes just did not appeal to me. I though they sounded dull and tasteless....but have not tried that many, so it's a judge for your self kind of thing....you may enjoy.

Diabetes Snacks and more, 2007-08-10 If you already know how to cook you may not be interested in this book. If you are newly diagnosed w/diabetes or have a diabetic child this is a good "first" cookbook that is easy to follow and has a good variety of recipes for beginning cooks and children that are interested in preparing food.

Lots of great information, 2007-03-08 I bought this book for my sister. She loves it. It has helped her control her diabetes through diet.
