Editorial Reviews
Product Description
Bruce and Stan's newest book encourages readers not to disregard the minor, insignificant things in life. Rather, "God Is in the Small Stuff..."encourages a better understanding of God's infinite character, reminding readers that He is a personal and intimate God, involved in every detail of their lives, however minute. "God Is In the Small Stuff...and it all matters" contains 40 chapters, with titles such as "Remember that God Loves You," "Discipline Yourself (No One Else Will)," and "Contentment Won't Kill You." Each chapter includes an introductory commentary in the tongue-in-cheek Bruce & Stan style, followed by bits of pithy and sometimes humorous wisdom.

5 out of 5 starsDiscovering God in the Details, 2008-08-15
"Don't worry about proving God's existence because no one can disprove it." ~ pg. 15

"God is in the Small Stuff" is a helpful little book filled with short devotionals and practical applications. Each chapter begins with a Bible verse and ends with a list of helpful suggestions. The message is comforting and spiritual. There is a section on how to know God's will when you pray. There are surprising facts like how more than ninety percent of all households in America have at least one Bible. Some chapters are reality checks like the section on weight loss or how to simplify your life. I liked the section on being a better listener and it even made me laugh. This is a book that can be enjoyed by virtually anyone but it does seem to have been written with Christians in mind. You could read one chapter a day or read the entire book as a "How to be a better Christian refresher course." There is a lot of wisdom packed into a very small book! You may want two copies, one to read and one to give away as a gift.

"The best way to stop worrying is to start praying." ~ pg. 123

5 out of 5 stars"A Perfect Gift for Everyone", 2008-02-26

Teachers, preachers, friends, co-workers, parents, bus drivers, mail carriers--they are all hard to shop for. I now know what I am getting them for Christmas next year. God Is In the Small Stuff is a great one-gift-for-everyone book.
Each devotion is meant to take only one minute to read, but they will be thought provoking for much longer. A scripture reference is at the bottom of each page. Not all of the devotions are spiritually motivating. Some focus on the mental and physical aspects of us all.

4 out of 5 starsInspiring an Easy to Read, 2005-03-24
Advice that is practical and valid is always beneficial. That's why I give this book a high rating because it meets that standard. Connecting with God and fulfilling His purpose for your life is the theme of this book. God's plan is not complicated, which is why reader's will find this book easy to read. Improving the quality of life is a process we're reminded. Taking one step at a time is the way one's life is enhanced.

Discipline is celebrated. Success occurs when people do the right things repetitively. Discipline is work, it's a mindset, it's the path to achievement. Stewardship over free time is emphasized. I really like the fact that a lot of space in this books is devoted to dreams and one's future. The fact that they from California...as in "California Dreamin." added a little punch to my way of thinking.

I highly recommend this very inspiring Christian motivational book. It is right on target.

3 out of 5 starsVery Basic and Simplistic, 2003-03-12
This book does a wonderful job of explaining how to develop a relationship with God. It is simple almost to a childish level, which some people--snugly wrapped up in their intellectualism--may find offensive, but it is written in the way God would have wanted it. God wants a relationship with everyone...not just intellectuals. It may be a good book for those just starting on their walk with God, but also for those who have been walking with Him for years, as it will remind them that God is, in essence, a very simple and approachable Being. If God ever seems too complicated to understand, it is because we have, in our own minds, complicated Him.
