Product Description This is a sourcebook of manners and mischief for the 21st-century male. It offers a panoramic snapshot of the gentleman: witty and poignant, traditional but spontaneous, flirtatious yet courting. It has discussions ranging from the classic and serious to the racy and silly.

Miserable book!!!, 2008-05-29 This was the most miserable book that I have ever read!!! It makes absolutely no sense and can not be applied in real relationships. Obviously, these authors have no concept of the meaning of a true gentelman. Please don't buy this book - it is a waste of your money!!!

A Place to Start, 2008-02-23 There is some good information in this book, and anyone with the ambition to improve themselves by buying a guide to being a better gentleman should be commended. In my opinion, being a gentleman boils down to a few basic elements. Confidence, respect for others, and knowledge. I think a combination of the following references gives a better overall guide to what you need to know. For Dining, Essential Etiquette Fundamentals, Vol. 1: Dining Etiquette and Essential Etiquette Fundamentals, Vol. 2: Wine Selection & Etiquette are very good. For dress, Dressing the Man: Mastering the Art of Permanent Fashion. The Dale Carnegie classic How to Win Friends & Influence People - seriously. The rest is up to you. Pick the topic you are interested in and read up on it.

Didn't Expect the Section on Pot, 2008-01-22 I bought this book for my husband, and he really liked it. I was surprised when he showed me the section on when you should or shouldn't smoke pot. It wasn't a big deal for me or him, but had I been a parent buying it for a child or teen I would have been irritated.

A fun, however ill informing read., 2007-12-14 This book is good for 'fluff' reading before you go to bed, as it is mildly humorous, however it provides little practical information. There are a few interesting bits of information, however as a book billed as a guide for 'the modern gentleman,' it unfortunately falls short as it doesn't take itself very seriously. Many of the chapters have suggestions for various drink combinations (actually almost all of them actually) along with the occasional music tip or book to read. I did enjoy the book and was unsure of how many stars to give it - my two star review stems from the lack of practical information the book actually possess.

Manners, plus a little more. , 2007-10-09 I found this book very entertaining, quite useful and I recommend it highly. For those of you who are aspiring to be a gentlemen, just looking for some fatherly advice, or wish to brush up on how a modern gentleman carries himself, this text has it all. The authors gave an astonishingly educated outlook of the goings on of the modern gentleman in an informative instruction manual without the antiquated feel of an etiquette book.
However, it is true what most of the other reviewers say, "The contents and teachings of this book are mostly common sense", but then again, we all need to be reminded of manners and golden rule commonalities - shouldn't we?
