Product Description
Hugo Young founded the Flxible Side Car Company in 1913 in Loudonville, Ohio. In the early 1920s, the mass production of automobiles lowered their cost to the point where sidecar-equipped motorcycles could no longer compete. The Flxible Company used this challenge as an opportunity to enter the bus-building business. The first Flxible bus was built in 1924, and was among only a few Flxibles built in the 1920s. The real boost in Flxible's bus production came in 1936 with the introduction of the Flxible Airway coach, mounted on a Chevrolet truck chassis. Read and see photos of the Flxible Airway coaches and other Flxible intercity buses like the Clipper, Visicoach, C-37, Starliner, Vistaliner, Hi-level models, Flxliner, and more.

This book is not what I expected. Contents 99% collection of
black&white postcardlike pictures. No interior pictures or written technical info. I paid USD 38.93 incl. overseas shipping-charge to The Netherlands, however, USD 10.00 should be the max I should pay for it in any book-outletstore.

5 out of 5 starsGreat Book About A Lost Classic, 2005-12-20
The Flxible Clipper was a very neat, compact bus that was manufactured by the now also gone Flxible Company. It was not only sold as a bus, it was also one of the(if not the)first motor home buses. The company actually put out literature in the 1940's calling it the "Land Cruiser". There was even a "beverage coach" version for hauling cases of soft drinks.
I recommend this and all bus photo archives and the two buses of the 20th century books, all from Econografix.
