We need tips!, 2008-06-03
I liked this book for at least two reasons - because it opened my eyes on low carb dieting and because it did it in a very concentrated way the tips can do.

Before reading the 101 Low Carb Diet Tips I thought all low carb diets are alike. Not anymore! I now understand how they are different, how they all work and why about 20 percent of dieters are bound to fail on Atkins while almost any beginner can succeed on much more liberal South Beach.

I also liked that there's practically no commonplace 'wisdom' in the book like the low fat crap that is still given out to us by some of the certified professionals. The author based the tips on a solid scientific background including clinically tested calculations for the ketogenic diet as well as its 'light' version used in Banta diet (the calculated recipes are really good!)

Most of the tips have source or references listed, which at least for me add to the book credibility.

misleading title; common content, 2008-05-30
Funny, I found the content to be nothing BUT canned tips and easily found web content - sorely disappointed.

almost half the tips were recipes, and almost all the rest were what the rest of us would call paragraphs of text. (new paragraph, new tip - what a silly method of stretching a few pages of content into a book)

Extremely poor product. You can find this info and recipes with any decent net search.

Better together - with Banta online, 2008-02-21
I bought this bood, then figured out that you can have a very interesting and (looks like) easy to follow real plan by the same author, it's mentioned in the book.

The site bantadiet.com however shows some signs of reconstructions, but you can have 7 dail plans for free, then you report you progress and they will send you a plan a day for one more week. I think the several hundreds members there are happy with the first 7 :) but it's a very new group with free membership:

So! '101 Tip' is a good thing but a good diet plan stays forever :)))

Very practical, 2007-05-03
101 Low Carb Diet Tips

Though it's only a tip book, it's absolutely practical: you get the basics and theories behind major low carb diets, footnoted critique -- but also 'cookable' recipes. I just bought the book and right away, tried one of the quick dessert recipes - very good indeed. As Dr Zilberter writes, "The bottom line is, low carb is good for you - if you know the ropes. This is what these tips are all about."

A Top Diet Book!, 2007-04-19
I am so glad I brought this book! It has helped me to get rid of the carbohydrates in my diet and effectively burn fat while still eating great.
The recipes are simple to make and truly delicious.

101 Low Carb Diet Tips showed me how to substitute low-carb items instead of high-fat content foods. This is a very nice book. One of the best books in the LifeTips Series!
