From the supplier: Insurance agents' lobbyists will meet with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) to protest the recent letter ruling by the OCC that allows a bank converting from a state to federal charter to own an insurance agency, apparently in violation of the National Bank Act. The OCC ruling permits Magna Bank (Brentwood, MO) to continue its ownership of an agency that does business in a town with a population bigger than 5,000. Insurance agents' lobbyists say that the OCC is exceeding its authority.
