From the supplier: A Kentucky court has denied First & Peoples Bank's application for a license to sell general lines insurance, but the court's decision did not address statutes that may ultimately lead to legislative approval of bank selling of insurance in the state. Kentucky state law does not allow banks to hold general lines insurance licenses, but the court ruling ignored a statute that allows the commissioner of the Department of Financial Institutions to promote parity by allowing state banks to engage in the same activities as national banks.
