Fun to read, light-hearted romp or Life with Beans, 2008-08-28 If you enjoy reading the Plum series, you will find this book light and fun to read. The dialogue is not quite as snappy nor are the characters as colorful, but you can get carried away on the flow of the words and the changes of scenery. I could picture South Beach, the yacht, the luxury hotels and the concierge of "The Pearl." I loved Beans and Itzy-Poo. Actions involving the exploits of Beans are laugh-out-loud entertainment. Sure it isn't Stephanie Plum and LuLu and don't read it expecting it to be so. This is a diversion for Evanovich and I'm sure she enjoyed writing it as much as I enjoyed reading it. Spend a few quiet hours in your recliner with a Lite beer or iced tea and chill!

Easy Reading, but not too good, 2008-06-24 I have never read this author before, and I don't think that I will read another, the story dragged, the characters are not smart, not at one time did I find it funny (although I had no idea what to expect). Someone lent me the book, and I read it and it kept me interested...sorta, but I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone, go with Jayne Krentz or Nora Roberts, or even JR Ward....guess I don't like this genre?

Fun and entertaining, a great light read, 2008-04-05 Motormouth caught my attention in audio books. I enjoyed the characters and the acting done by C.J. Critt. I am new to Janet Evanovich novels and had no preconceived notions of "Stephanie". The main character, Barney, intrigued me, as did Sam Hooker. There is definite chemistry between them and the story moves alone at a healthy, but not too rushed pace. I listen to books while driving on a long commute, and am happy to hear that Barney and Hooker have established a following. I will be one of those waiting for the next installment! When I have to take an audio book inside the house to finish it, I consider it a good read, as I did Motormouth. I will be sure to check out other novels by Janet E.

NASCAR racing, adventure, and humor, 2008-02-07 Motor Mouth is a humorous and enticing story about NASCAR racing and the adventures of a few teams that chose to find trouble, both with NASCAR and other racing teams. Included in this story are spotters that work from rooftops telling their drivers when to move, mechanics that maintain not only the cars but all the equipment needed to transport the cars and equipment, and the drivers themselves and their interaction with all of the aforementioned.
Alex is known as "Motor Mouth" being driver Sam Hooker's spotter. She loves adventure and fun while engaged in any racing activity as well as any wild activity apart from racing. During the last race of the season while giving Sam instructions via radio, a terrible wreck occurs on the racetrack. Among serious conversation along with humor, the happenings and interaction due to the wreck were described leading up to the restart of the race. Beans, a huge Saint Bernard dog belonging to Hooker becomes a big part of the humorous parts of the book. No matter how serious things got, Beans would always do something to take attention away from the seriousness of anything disastrous.
Hooker and Alex suspected some foul play from the owners and team of the winning car as some strange racing car movements occurred that were far from normal. They suspected `traction control' that would tend to make a car perform oddly even though they could not imagine how that could be transmitted to a car. This starts a private investigation by Alex, Hooker, and of course, Beans that lead to breaking and entering, stealing vehicles, running from the law, finding dead bodies in very unexpected areas, and finding a way to dispose of the bodies some place distant and getting to that area without being followed by any of the racers or the law. Most of this book takes place in south Florida and includes the families and friends of Alex and Hooker. Believe me, you will meet some REAL characters that will say and do most anything. That's what makes this book so funny and interesting at the same time.
I am not a NASCAR fan so I started this book without much hope that I would enjoy it. I was completely wrong. I have enjoyed many of Janet Evanovich's books and this one is no exception--by far! This book is for you if you need a faster read that contains all of the above.

Janet Evanowich has done it again., 2008-01-12 I am a huge fan of Janet Evanowich and her Stefanie Plum novels. I was concerned that her Metro Girl & Motor Mouth series would not live up to my expectations. I was wrong! Alex Barnaby is a fun character and her story line is a typical Evanowich - crazy with turns and twists. Just like Bob in the Stephanie Plum novels, we get to meet Beans the hairy beast. This is a quick read and very light hearted. I bought this series for my sister at Christmas, and I'm sure she'll love it. Happy Reading!
