Amazon.com Review If you have 30-plus pounds to lose, Jorge Cruise--fitness trainer to millions via his Web site, media appearances, and best-selling 8 Minutes in the Morning--promises success with this 28-day program. First, stop sabotaging yourself: (1) "Accept yourself whatever your size" and (2) "Eliminate emotional eating by healing your hungry heart." Aim for a healthy, realistic weight. "Some people are at their best and healthiest weight at size 12, 16, or 24," he writes. Cruise describes how to stop using food to numb pain--instead, seek out nurturing friendships to overcome emotional eating. He echoes the "8 minute" theme of his first book, emphasizing emotional success as well as exercising and eating right. His system of "Cruise Moves"--an easy, 8-minute, muscle-strengthening program--is less vigorous than in his earlier book and is easier on knees and backs, and it requires no equipment. The "Cruise Down Plate" eating plan is a simple way to eat proper portions of nutritious foods without counting calories or eliminating favorites. This motivational, practical book looks slick--full-color on glossy paper--and is a workbook for getting started. Cruise's style is chatty and personal, with anecdotes and photos of people who lost 30 to 75 pounds and are happy with their bodies. Recommended for people willing to change their attitudes as well as their weight. --Joan Price

real shapes real sizes, 2008-02-08 I think this book had a lot of good information in it but I wish that it had more examples of food menues.

Watch out if you have other Jorge's books, 2008-01-13 This book and Jorge's 8 "Minutes in the Morning for Extra-Easy Weight Loss" are almost word-for-word the same book! Not real impressive that an author would do this, not to mention a publisher (Harper Collins). I already had the "8 Minute" book and thought this would be a great addition. I was very dissapointed...

about food, not exercise. , 2007-05-14 even if you are under a time constraint, if you have beem exercising for a while this book will do nothing for you. I must admit I haven't even tried the book exercises in the book even once, but I knew that doing the exercises in the book, would not make me feel as though I've exercised. If you don't have time to exercise, but you do exercise regularly, and want to get your heart rate up, get the 8 minute tae bo workout.
For obese people, or someone who likes to stretch and take it really easy, this book is for you. But its more to do with eating, that actual exercising.

very basic, but good food plan, 2007-02-06 I need to lose 40 pounds so I ordered 3 Hour Diet and this book. The other book was good for me. This one is for someone who has never exercised and doesn't really want to exercise and just wants guidelines on how to eat. It does have high quality laminated, plasticky pages, (not newsprint) and that was nice. You can almost use it as a coffee table book. It also goes on endlessly about getting a support system of phone call friends, email friends, and just friends period to alert that you are undergoing this new plan and need help. I, for one can't do that, so I knew this was not the book for me. I was lucky to get my husband to not roll his eyes when he saw I was yet again trying something new.

Not bad, but not for me., 2006-09-26 If you are completely desperate and need something really basic to follow, this is a good book. I'm overweight but these exercises were just too easy and I didn't feel challenged enough. I opted to start weight watchers and use some exercise videos instead. I did enjoy the book and it is very motivational if you want to start fresh.
