With three Super Bowl wins in four years (2001-2004)-a feat equaled only by the Dallas Cowboys-the New England Patriots have established themselves as the first NFL dynasty of the 21st Century. In Week 2 of the 2001 season, Patriots quarterback Drew Bledsoe took a vicious blow from Jets linebacker Mo Lewis, and the 2001 season seemed lost. But backup Tom Brady stepped in-and New England sports history was changed forever. By the time Bledsoe returned, Brady had compiled a 5-3 record as a starter, and head coach Bill Belichick stayed with him. That decision paid off in the final minutes of Super Bowl XXXVI, when Brady drove the Patriots 53 yards to set up the biggest kick of Adam Vinatieri's career - a 48-yarder for the title. Less than a week before the start of the 2003 season, Belichick made another risky decision, releasing Pro Bowl safety and team captain Lawyer Milloy. His replacement, Rodney Harrison, won respect with his aggressive play and was voted a defensive captain after only a few games. Harrison and linebackers Tedy Bruschi and Willie McGinest led a defense that allowed the fewest points in the league that season. In Super Bowl XXXVIII, Tom Brady out-gunned the Carolina Panthers, 32-29, and won his second Super Bowl MVP award in three years. Halloween, 2004, was a nightmare for New England: Ben Roethlisberger's Steelers ended the Patriots' NFL-record 21-game winning streak and dealt a season-ending injury to All-Pro cornerback Ty Law. More injuries followed as the season progressed, weakening a once-dominant defense-but New England played on with a patchwork secondary that included 33-year-old wide receiver Troy Brown at nickel back. After the Patriots won the rematch against Big Ben for the AFC Championship, all that stood between them and a third world title in four seasons was the most fearsome receiver in the game-Philadelphia's Terrell Owens, in Super Bowl XXXIX.

I absolutely love the way America's Game explains the Patriots trips to the Superbowl..they explain everything that has happened during the course of the season and also review the season week by week, my favorite disc on the whole 3-disc set would have to be SBXXXVI, to see a guy like Tom Brady who had been drafted sooo late in the 2000 NFL Draft to carry his team to a Superbowl and win was spectacular. I loved the other ones too but to me I loved SBXXXVI the most, it was great to see them win their first championship, a GREAT DVD!!

 Oh, those dirty Patriots, 2008-02-19
I have no respect for this franchise. In the 2001 playoffs against the Raiders, Brady fumbled the ball in plain view for every viewer in the country to see, then was rewarded by the refs as they helped him advance. Then, they illegally held the Rams for the majority of the Super Bowl (breaking Isaac Bruce's ribs on the second play of the game). Each Super Bowl they won, they barely squeaked out by a field goal every time. Then, America finds out how much they have been cheating for the past several years. Yet, they're still considered a dynasty. They are a disgrace. Their coach ran up the score all year long on hapless opponents but when HE loses, he walks off the field without shaking hands. Arrogance, poor sportsmanship and a dark cloud will always be linked to this team. Only New England fans or the fickle NFL announcers could still watch a DVD like this and feel good about this team.

FOXBORO ... THE NEW "TITLE TOWN", 2008-01-21
This 3-disc set details the first three Super Bowl seasons of the NFL's New England Patriots (2001, 2003, and 2004).
If you're a fan of another franchise, don't fret a bit. Similar sets are available about most of the other Super Bowl champs.
Each of these three DVDs chronicles the Pats' regular season and play-off runs, with various players/coaches serving as guest commentators on each of the three discs. The commentators include --

This Pats-oriented 3-disc set is part of a larger 40-disc set, which examines each of the first 40 champs. As suggested above, far more than each Super Bowl contest is featured. In fact, each DVD is more about the regular season and play-offs, of each Super Bowl champion, than it is about the final game itself.
Rather than America's "Game," this series could be America's "Sport," or America's "Seasons." Note that NFL Films makes a separate, 20-disc set, focusing on each of the first 40 Super Bowl contests themselves.
In any case, as part of "America's Game," the producers also compiled a "Top 20" list of Super Bowl champs. And the 2004 Pats are #9 on that list, that fact being mentioned at the outset of the 2004 DVD.
Another great product from NFL Films. Get the whole series !! And what the hell, get the other 20-disc set, too.

This is just essential viewing !!!, 2007-12-18
I wish more documentaries about sports were like this. As well as capturing all the action from all the camera angles from NFL films, you really get a feel from inside the patriots camp of what the Super Bowl years meant to the players and coaching staff. The interviews are refreshingly insightful and honest (including some bad language) and the behind the scenes thoughts of the players and management were a joy to watch.
There are plenty of extras as well to round off a truly great series. I can't recommend this highly enough to any Pats fan. I am lifelong Patriot from the UK and watching this nearly brought a tear to my eye. After all the years of suffering and losses, the big victories on here meant so much to me, it was a joy to see and hear the players and the backroom staff give their version of the proudest day of their lives, the day they became Super Bowl champions. I liked this series so much i intend to get more America's game shows from other NFL teams. There really has been no better documentary ever made about football in my opinion.
Invest in this and relive the Patriots glory years (will they ever stop?!) over and over again. priceless. The only criticism i would have is i was enjoying it so much i wished that each episode was 3 hours long.
You will not regret buying this. The definitive record of some glorious, never to be forgotten times for any Patriot.

Perfect for Patriots fans, 2007-12-11
I purchased this for my nephew who is a big Patriots fan. He and his family loved it. They told me they were sorry to see it end and wanted more.
