This book was a great installment to a great series of books by Sandra Hill. I read it in about 4 hours.

Down and Dirty (Viking Time-Travel)

I so love this series... I read them all, and I re-read them. If you love men, you've got to read this series. The heroes are delicious! The heroines are so human, and with strong senses of humors! I laughed, I cryed. Its a mini vacation from everyday life. LOL!!

4 out of 5 starsPretty Good Except For a Few Things, 2008-05-13
This was my first book by this author. It was a pretty good story, but I agree with another reviewer who said the dialog was pretty bad. I quickly got very tired of the way Britta kept mis-pronouncing Zack's name deliberately. It stopped being cute fast. I also didn't understand why the author made it seem that Britta had such a difficult time with some of the words she heard over and over. Britta and the other females had a whole evening discussing orgasims but the next day Britta still couldn't pronounce it correctly. I also wasn't sure why Britta, after being in our modern time for four days still had trouble believing she was in the future. I mean, really . . . there had to be an awful lot of obvious differences that couldn't be explained in a 1,000 year time change! Small issues like that made the story a little less enjoyable for me. Half way through the book it did get better and I did like the book well enough to check out some other books by this author. I would like to read Cage's story.

5 out of 5 starsFantastic as ever, 2008-03-18
The book is as good if not better than her others. Love to read Sandra Hill and can't wait to get the next book.

2 out of 5 starsplot is intriguing but dialogue is bad, 2008-02-16
I was very excited by the plot of this book, involving a SEAL, his 5 year old son, and a woman warrior who traveled from the past. But, first the conversation with the 5 year old is so unbelievable. Then with Britta, the warrior, her use of 'old language' got on my nerves. The constant side note added from the first person point of view was too much and too jarring, not contributing to a smooth dialogue. I prefer lots of dialogue, witty and fast paced: this book didn't satisfy.
