Product Description

Doesn't every day deserve a chance to be a good day? An opportunity? A shot? A tryout? An audition? A swing at the plate? After all: "This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it." But what of those days when traffic snarls, airports close, friends forget, and spouses complain? Or divorce days, final exam days, surgery days, tax days, or even days when the cemetery dirt is still fresh?

"Yes, every day," says best-selling author Max Lucado. In Every Day Deserves a Chance he unpacks Jesus' delightful formula for upgrading each of your days to blue ribbon status: saturate your day in Jesus' grace; entrust your day to His oversight; accept His direction. Grace. Oversight. Direction. G-O-D. The perfect prescription for filling your day with divine power and giving every day a chance.

5 out of 5 starsGreat for bible study, 2008-10-12
Our women's bible study group is enjoying this book. In the back of the book, it has questions for each chapter

I have enjoiyed this book. I first heard of it at my Women's Ministry gathering of "Encouragers" when a friend read a passage from the book to us. When I was home recently visiting a cousin who is facing challenges with her health, we read tiogether the chapter on anxiety and found it very comforting. I would give this book to any friend going through a difficult time in their lives.

5 out of 5 starsLike a big warm hug and a smile to start your day... what's not to love?, 2008-09-07
I do have to confess that Max Lucado is one of my most favorite christian authors and i have most of his books. I usually am waiting for a release date to get his next book. This one slipped by me and was actually a gift from my husband last Christmas when we were going through tough financial times. It couldn't have been a more perfect book. As always, Max has the amazing gift with words to take the richest nugget of truth and wrap it in an easy bite to swallow. It is such easy reading yet delivers some hearty, hopeful truth. I love the line that says something like, "If you were having terrible computer problems and Bill Gates was your dad, would you worry? Well we have the dad who is creator of the universe, yet we forget he's got us covered." Max has a light yet profound way of refocusing your perspective to see the hope and the possibilities and not just the problem and he writes it all without being condescending or smug. When life feels more like a curse than a gift, this book will help to shed hope, humor and truth to get up and try it again with a better attitude. And as the old saying goes, sometimes our attitude is the only thing we have the power to change but that alone can make a huge difference in how we weather the storm.
This is terrific gift for those that need help to see the world as a "Tigger" rather than an "Eyeore" - and on that note, I also highly recommend the book "The Last Lecture" by Professor Randy Pausch - he was an amazing man (google him if you are unfamiliar, you will be amazed).

I appreciated the stories, thoughts, and style of writing in this book. I liked the format and hope to use this book in a small group study at church in the near future.

Every Day Deserves a Chance by Max Lucado was given to me as a gift. I found it to be inspiring, encouraging, and challenging. I needed a retirement gift for a friend and found it to be a perfect fit.
