Alternative Asset Definition
Alternative Assets tend to be less
liquid than regular assets. Traditionally real estate, commodities, artwork,
rare coins, stamps and sports cards belong to this category. More recently
institutional asset types as private equity, venture capital and hedge funds
are also considered alternative assets. Most of them increase their value over
a longer period of time.
