Corporate title

Corporate title Definition

Corporate titles include:

  • CEO: Chief Executive Officer
  • DOO: Director of Operations aka Operations Director
  • CFO: Chief Financial Officer
  • CIO: Chief Information Officer
  • CMO: Chief Marketing Officer
  • COO: Chief Operating Officer
  • CTO: Chief Technical Officer or Chief Technology Officer
  • Chairman of the board
  • President
  • Vice President
  • GM: General Manager

Certain corporate titles are given more for honor then out of any difference in job function. For example, the COO title is often given to a manager who really only runs a certain division of a company but is set to be in line to be the CEO. The titles "President" and "Vice President" are given in the same way.
