Dual listing Definition
A security or futures contract that is listed for trading on more than one exchange. Some companies decided to list on their home market and also on the stock market of another country. Listing on both the NYSE and the NASDAQ is allowed and many companies have dual listings on the NYSE or AMEX and a regional exchange. The listings can often extend to three or more exchanges. This situation might also be referred to as Multiple Listing.
