Eurex

Eurex Definition

Eurex is an European derivatives exchange market. In year 2000, 454 million contracts were traded at the exchange. Eurex is an electronic exchange based in Frankfurt and uses the same MISS architecture as used by Xetra, and once upon a time CBOT.

Eurex's main products are the BUND BOBL and SHAZ German Bond Futures and Options. Eurex has funded Eurex US to compete with the United States derivatives exchanges but has thus far not been able to singificantly penetrate this market.

Additional meaning of Eurex:

The Eurex futures and options exchange is jointly operated by Deutsche Borse Ag and SWX Swiss Exchange.
