High Watermark Definition
High Watermark means the highest value that an investment fund or account has ever reached. In case of investment funds the high watermark value is used to determine the bonus of the fund manager. The bonus is calculated on the basis of the amount earned above this level. This method ensures that the manager does not get large amount of money if the fund is not performing well.
